Living in Style, Hotel Review

When choosing your hotel, factors you should take into consideration include location, proximity to a landmark, city or airport, hotel rating and value. Expedia makes it so easy to find exactly what you want at a reasonable price.

I stayed overnight at Park Royal Serviced Suites which is within walking distance of Pavilion, the shopping centre where I planned to spend most of my time during my stay in KL. I instantly fell in love with the modern and stylish studio apartment.

Luxurious and comfy king size bed

Big mirrors with plenty of wardrobe space which scored a lot of points with me!

Clean and spacious bathroom with huge shower space!

Marinda Leigh’s Dark Chocolate and Almond Ice-Cream

Marinda Leigh’s Dark Chocolate and Almond Ice-Cream
(Serves 4)

2 eggs
2 additional egg yolks
50g sugar
190mls Thick cream
190mls Milk
1 block of dark lindt chocolate with almonds

*you can write up the method*

Combine the milk and cream in a saucepan and heat for approximately 15 minutes slowly adding the chocolate and heating til mixed through

Beat the eggs, egg yolks and sugar with an electric beater until pail and thick.

Then slowly add the hot mixture to the eggs and continue to beat slowly

Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick enough to coat the back of the spoon.

chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Transfer to an ice-cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

If you don’t have an ice-cream maker, you can freeze the bowl of mixture for 1 ½ hours. Remove from the freezer and stir well with a fork or beat with electric beaters, then return to the freezer. Repeat this every hour for another 3 hours or so (the more times you mix the ice-cream, the smoother and lighter the results). After the last mix, transfer the ice-cream to a container with a lid.

Springtime in Japan

I've been having a blast in Japan and I'm dying to blog about it properly but I'm so tired every night that I put it off. Naughty, I know. But here's a sneak preview of some beautiful cherry blossoms!

Stay tuned for more coming soon!

Alfie the Puppy

A couple of weekends ago, I was asked to puppysit for Alfie, the puppy Schnauzer as his parents were out all day. Like a proud aunt, I lugged over all my gear and got settled in for a quiet night with this little beardball. He had grown so much since I last saw him and definitely had three times the energy! They grow up so quickly that we have to remember to capture these moments when we can!

It's difficult to take photos of such an active puppy but I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I've picked up over the years! I hope you enjoy the following!
